Ayesha Malik

Founder

Hi, I'm Ayesha Malik, I began this project after researching about the lack of education womxn receive in other communities and the barriers that keep them from succeeding. I wanted to inflict change so I focused on issues in my community. When volunteering with shelters I noticed that many of them didn't receive women's hygiene products, so I decided to start an organization that caters to these needs. As a young womxn, I hope to break the gender barriers that continue to hinder the educational, economic, and social growth of the local and even global female population.

Hana Mehal

Founder

Hi, I'm Hana Mehal. Growing up living a comfortable lifestyle, I never worried about acquiring feminine products for myself or thought of this process as a luxury. However, upon working with local shelters, I noticed that in their donation needs, feminine hygiene products always lacked a presence. Seeing as this is a monthly process, I wondered why it didn’t receive as much attention compared to the other classified needs. Being a young woman, I understand the many struggles that accompany navigating an ever-changing body--both mentally and physically--which is why I wanted to ensure that all young women had one less thing to worry about.

Alina Mehal

Co-President and Director

Hi, I’m Alina Mehal. Although I have never had to worry about obtaining menstrual hygiene products, I noticed that this was such a widespread issue for many others, and as a young woman, I understand the numerous health risks of not having the proper supplies. After seeing that people were unable to afford these supplies, I decided that I wanted to make a change in my community, and from then I started my journey with Care4Wmn. Not only has this organization given me the opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of many women, but it has also allowed me to spread awareness about various other issues concerning women. I hope to continue working with Care4Wmn and help many more women in the future.

Ali Malik

Co-President and Treasurer

Hi, I'm Ali Malik. After my sister and her friend introduced me to the problems that women deal with on a daily basis, I started volunteering with Care4wmn to get a better insight into period poverty.  I felt attached and wanted to help, and now I have a role at Care4wmn.
